2017 - Botswana explorer

August 3 to August 13. The 2017 safari departs from Johannesburg... bound for Botswana.

Photographic safaris to Africa, led by Lindsay Scott and Brian McPhun

Your first 3 nights will be spent at the Savute Safari Lodge, in the Savute Channel area of Chobe National Park.

The Savute Channel is a mysterious area offering a fascinating array of wildlife including leopards, old bull elephants, cheetah and the endangered wild dog as well as amazing bird life.

Next, it's on to the Moremi Game Reserve, situated where the life-giving waters of the Okavango Delta meet the vast plains of the Kalahari Desert and staying at Camp Xakanaxa. Sightings of elephant, buffalo, wild dog, hyena, giraffe, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe, lion, leopard and cheetah are prolific in this area and you'll explore on land and on water.

Then, we head north to Shinde Camp in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta. We explore with guided walks and night drives in addition to game drives and motorboat trips to see a wide variety of wildlife, including the elusive sitatunga antelope.

Optional extensions to your safari include Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and then on to Cape Town in South Africa.
